Five Prayers Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 17, 2026
Developer: Noor23 LLC
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Five Prayers mobile application ("the App") provided by Noor23 LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Use of the App
Five Prayers is free to download and use for personal, non-commercial use. You may install and use the App on devices you own or control.
The App also offers optional Supporter purchases, which unlock additional features such as extra colour themes. These are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms, not by us, and they are not required to use the App's prayer features. A Supporter purchase is a purchase of software features. It is not a donation and is not tax-deductible. Supporter purchases never gate the Quran reader described in Section 3 — its text, translations, and recitation audio are free to every user and always will be.
2. Religious Content
The App provides Islamic content including prayer times, Qibla direction, a Quran reader (see Section 3), hadiths, and lessons. We make every reasonable effort to ensure accuracy of religious content, but the App is offered as a helpful tool — not as a substitute for consultation with qualified scholars or for the use of authoritative sources directly. Where there is doubt, defer to your local masjid, scholarly authority, or the original sources.
3. Quran Reader
The App includes a Quran reader: the Arabic text, a selection of published translations, and audio recitations by a selection of reciters, together with a feature that lets you generate and share an image card containing a verse and its translation. These are provided for your personal, non-commercial religious use — reading, listening, and sharing individual verses — and not for extracting, republishing, or redistributing the underlying text, translation, or audio files themselves.
Each translation is the separately authored, and in most cases separately copyrighted, work of its own translator or publisher; the Arabic Quran text itself has no living author or applicable copyright. Recitation audio is a distinct work belonging to the reciter or organization that recorded it. We include this content under permission from, or the published terms of, its respective rights holder, and it remains their property, not ours or yours — see Section 6 (Intellectual Property). The specific translations and reciters available in the App may change over time as permissions are obtained, renewed, or withdrawn, and we may add, remove, or temporarily disable a specific translation or reciter without prior notice for this reason.
Access to the Quran in the App — its Arabic text, every translation, and every recitation — is free to every user and will never be a paid feature, regardless of whether the App offers other optional paid features, now or in the future.
We make every reasonable effort to ensure the text and translations displayed are accurate and complete, but as with all religious content in the App (Section 2), the reader is offered as a tool — not a substitute for a physical mushaf, an authoritative published edition, or consultation with a qualified scholar where precision matters.
4. Accuracy of Prayer Times & Qibla
Prayer times are calculated from your location and the calculation method you select. By default the App computes them on your device, so prayer times work without a connection. You can choose to use an online prayer-time service instead, and the App uses that service for the Shia Ithna-Ashari method, which it cannot compute on your device. Each source can stand in for the other if one is unavailable.
Calculation methods differ from one another by design, and different mosques and authorities follow different methods. The App computes the method you chose. It does not decide which method is correct for you. Qibla direction is calculated geometrically from your location to Makkah. You are responsible for verifying critical timings against your local masjid or a trusted authority.
5. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data the App handles and how. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, logos, and original content, is owned by Noor23 LLC and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the App except as permitted by applicable law or by the platform store agreement under which you obtained it.
The Arabic Quran text has no living author and no applicable copyright. Hadith collections referenced in the App are drawn from public sources and reproduced for educational use. Quran translations and recitation audio, however, are separately owned: each is the copyrighted (or, where applicable, public-domain) work of its own translator, reciter, or publisher, used in the App under their permission or published terms. Their rights are not transferred to Noor23 LLC or to you by inclusion in the App.
This third-party religious content — translations and recitation audio in particular — is licensed to us for use inside the App. It is not licensed to you for extraction, republication, or redistribution outside of the App's own built-in sharing feature (Section 3). If a rights holder to any translation or audio recording notifies us of an objection, we will remove that specific content from the App promptly.
7. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that prayer times will be accurate to the second in every location. The App relies on your device's clock, location, and notification permissions; if any of those are unavailable, restricted, or incorrect, times and reminders may be wrong or may not arrive. We likewise do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any third-party religious text, translation, or recitation audio made available through the App, including the Quran reader described in Section 3 — these are the work of their respective translators, reciters, and publishers, not our own.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noor23 LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App, which for free downloads is zero.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL with the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
